Glasslough Villa 3 Carlingford Athletic 3
We went to Glasslough on Sunday. It was a sunny day and the pitch looked really well. The changing rooms were an old crate with two rooms. Five minutes into the game they scored a good goal. Then they scored again and it was another great goal leaving us 2-0 down at half-time. Five minutes into the second half they scored again and we were in big trouble.
Then Dominic passed it to Kevin and Eoin ran through the middle and Kevin passed it to Eoin and Eoin shot and scored right in the top corner. Now Carlingford were 3-1 down. Then Carlingford scored again. Eoin crossed it in and Christopher scored a goal that went in the bottom corner. Now the score is 3-2 with five minutes to go. Dominic shot and the keeper saved and it hit Alex on the head and it went into the corner. Alex was on the ground because his face hurt and he didn’t know he had scored. The game finished with a score of 3-3. It was a great match with Jamie, Jake, Dominic, Sean, Eoin, Christopher, Alex, Kevin, Conor and Zak all playing really well.

A classic derby game with little between the sides. A great goal by Christopher decided the game in the end.

It was another Sunday. The sun was shining. Tip off was at 11.00. Bay Utd travelled from Dundalk and they played very well. Carlingford started well and dominated the first half. Chrisptopher McGuiness scored after 15 minutes. Eoin McDaid crossed the ball, Christopher flicked and then the Bay defender hit it into his own net through the goalies legs. The crowd went wild.
Second half was a different story. Bay came back with a vengeance nearly scoring but for sean in goals who stopped everything. But it wasn’t all one way traffic – Eoin had a shot and Conor had a chance. When Stefano blew the final whistle Carlingford Athletic had held on for a deserved 1-0 victory, their second in a row.

Robbed! Oriel park has rarely hosted such a miscarriage of sporting justice. Incessant Celts pressure in the second half should have brought at least a draw. Ah well, thats football!
